Abstract
A key aspect of simulating seismic waves propagation in a medium is the consideration ofvarious inhomogeneities, since significantly affect the actual seismograms. The concept of this work is theuse of superimposed grids to define various inhomogeneities such as cracks or unfilled pores. It is expectedthat this approach will simplify meshing compared to alternative methods such as the finite element method, and improve accuracy.
