Abstract

we studied redundancy and excessive data volume generated by multichannel ultrasonic arrays in diagnostic applications. We justified the need for a hybrid compression method that combines structural compression based on multiresolution methods with algorithmic encoding approaches, including techniques derived from MP4. We described the characteristics of the A-scan data format and outlined the parameters that affect data volume. We proposed a conceptual approach to a compression model that uses dynamically adjustable bit depth. The study is theoretical and focuses on potential directions for developing efficient compression algorithms without presenting experimental results.
